John

If one were to stereotype roleplayers, one of those stereotypes would probably be John. John is one of those players who loves to play big, dumb, strong guys who kill stuff though excessive overt violence. In D&D he plays the fighter, in Star Wars a Wookie, and in Shadowrun, its the troll. We’ve been doing this for some time so John has gotten fairly good at making characters that fit these desires.
John gets the most joy out having his character either kill stuff, or be novel in some amusing way. Best is to kill someone in a novel way, such as when he rolled his truck into a crowd of people brainwashed by BTL chips. I wouldn’t go so far as to call John a clown, but he does interject some humor into the group. Which is great because our main objective is to have fun. John’s latest character, Bubba, is classic for him. A big dumb troll who kills things in overly violent ways. If you like you can listen to Bubba’s 20 questions, or check out his character sheet, which is attached. However, his violent ways have a way to come back and haunt him, as they did to Bubba (in the form of a DocWagon VSTOL with a HMG).
If he’s not playing a big thug, John like playing characters who are, well weird. Very weird. His current character in our campaign is exactly that. ‘Poon’ is a very effective rigger and handyman. However as his name might suggest he is a bit weird. Just what I expected from John since I told him he couldn’t just make Bubba 2.0 for his next character, no matter how much he might like it. He’s having fun though which is the important thing.
